The NCAA's tests shows their new low-seam ball traveling 20 feet more in their controlled tests before being put into use.
The World-Herald decided to test the ball at TD Ameritrade Park, home of the men's CWS to to see how far it would really fly.
We sent 62 balls - in pairs of two, old and new) across the outfield and and charted where they landed.
We used the parks own pitching machine and the spots where the balls landed were surveyed using professional equipment to ensure accuracy.
