With both SDSU teams making the NCAA Tournament, I pitched the idea for the special section cover of the star players for the men's and women's teams going to the prom. I wanted them coming out of the tunnel with the lights sort of low and whatnot. The photographer and/or sports editor went a different route, but I think it turned out pretty good. I used the baseline strip on the photo as a canvas for the headline, deck and section information. My boss came up with the headline.
