I was asked to put this together to run with a story about how local engineers from Washington State University’s hydraulics lab had helped develop a system that dampens the damaging sound waves created by a Saturn V launch. The diagram up top is recreated from their materials; I found the photo below showing a complimentary water system being tested on the pad.
