I've worked at The Week, Wiley-Blackwell, The Journal News (White Plains, N.Y.), The Jersey Journal and Florida Today as a managing editor, group editor, senior front-page editor, art director, copy editor and redesign expert. I'm available for intensive editing, design and writing projects, and publication strategy consulting (including concepts, workflow, content and visuals). As of September, I've joined the rotation of part-time layout personnel for The New York Times
About me
Award-winning editor-in-chief, designer/art director, copy editor. I've done everything from run a 30-person night news desk in the New York City media market to run magazines covering dentistry, hospital medicine and food quality. I also report for the laser industry, plastics industry, coal industry and music industry. In short: I do it all, I do it well.
My father started teaching me how to assess and write news ledes and stories around age 12. I used to go to the newsroom with him every chance I got. I did my first redesign at Seminole High School, Sanford, Fla., taking us from glossy large tab to smaller newsprint tab.
