About me
I became interested in visual journalism during my time as Design Editor at The Daily Athenaeum -- West Virginia University's student-run newspaper. During my time there I spearheaded front-to-back, top-to-bottom redesign.
During my single year at the DA, I saw their ranking in The Princeton Review climb to #8 and received several West Virginia Press Association awards, including the award for Best Front Page. After graduating cum laude with my BFA in Graphic Design, I worked several years designing architectural installations for an international company headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA.
I arrived at the Charleston Gazette in Charleston, W.Va. in July 2010 as a Features Designer. By December, 2011 I was promoted to Design Editor and put in charge of the branding and visual aesthetic of West Virginia's largest newspaper, including being the lead designer on A1.
In March, 2013 I moved to Louisville, KY to be a part of Gannett's ever-expanding studio operation, designing the hometown and award-winning Courier-Journal.
