Sarasota Herald-Tribune metro front (Charlotte edition, first edition), March 2, 2006. This story had no art, and because of that, was nearly punted. I told the metro editor to give me about 10 minutes and let me see what I can do to rescue the story... and I did, using layers and a file photo that worked well.
