On the left is a reprint of our first cover on March 23, 1861. For our 150th anniversary, on the right, I attempted to recreate the look and feel of that edition without breaking away from who we are today — we preserved the inverted-L format of our flag and teasers while the news hole remained as it would be any other day of the week.
