For only the third time in three years, I was asked to design the sports front. Lucky me: Our centerpiece was to be a Jenny Dial Creech column and terrific Michael Ciaglo photos showing Santa Fe High School’s emotional return to football practice. Our photo editors decided what to use on the front — it’s a nice picture but it left out the best image of the entire shoot, in my opinion. So I was delighted when I was asked to design the jump page as well. I used my favorite photo as large as I could get it.
