We’ve done a number of stories here on our municipal utility districts, which are largely responsible for the rapid growth of Houston’s suburbs. The problem is that they haven’t really disclosed to the folks who actually buy the homes that those homes are in a flood plain. Our Austin-based reporter James Drew shows here that of 75 MUD bond issues from the districts near the two reservoirs west of town, only one of those disclosed the threat of flooding.
