Editor Rob Curley came bounding out of the morning budget meeting one day. The story about the new iPhone 6 bending was going viral and the LA sheriff's department had put out a press release asking folks to not put their iPhone in their microwave ovens. Was there any way I could tie together these threads into a Focus page for the next day? Yes, I could. I organized the page into three "strikes" and added a sidebar of other famous Apple mishaps through its history. All I lacked was lead art, so I threw together this illustration. I'm pretty sure this is the record for the largest butt ever put on a page at the Orange County Register.
