Sometimes things fall into place quickly. Sometimes, they don’t. For an Extra story on the Best and Worst Things to Buy in May, I was given no art at all and very little time to make something happen. Stewing about this at lunch, I had the sudden thought to run a frowns-face for each month — and a May face grinning broadly. This won’t win any awards, but it sure got me out of a big jam.
