Some 100,000 tigers used to roam the wild a century ago, but the number has dwindled to fewer than 3,500 worldwide now, with a habitat range 93 per cent smaller than before. In this Year of the Tiger, it is time to restore the feline’s roar to its past glory, or tigers could be extinct by the next Year of the Tiger in 2022.
