Sept. 10, 2002, was a governor's primary in Florida. So our first Sept. 11 anniversary turned out to be a breaking-news page when the race between McBride and Reno was, in renewed agony for Florida, too close to call. (Our NYC skyline photo was so gorgeous, I wish we could have run it in 12 columns across the front and back pages. Kill the ad!)
