Several years ago in Orange County, I did a page featuring a timeline of the fall of the USSR. I was fascinated by the attempted coup in which Soviet hardliners attempted to remove Gorbachev from office. I put this on my long-term to-do list: Dive into this story in greater detail. So I did. I wish I could have used more pictures, but I had so much text I needed to cram in.
