FLASHBACK: INTERNET HISTORY

A quarter-century ago, Tim Berners-Lee of CERN in Switzerland began distributing the work he had done on a hypertext markup language — or HTML — that would lead directly to the modern World Wide Web. I’ve covered much of this ground before, but I combined several previous pieces with a fever chart showing the growth of the number of internet users worldwide. What surprised me the most: How many people have switched to the Google Chrome browser since the last time I pulled up those numbers.
