The next day was the 50th anniversary of that time John Lennon compared the Beatles to Jesus. A few days after that was the fifth anniversary of when Charlie Sheen was booted from “Two and a Half Men.” And the week after that is the fifth anniversary of when Gilbert Gottfried was fired from voicing the duck on the AFLAC commercials for his tasteless Twitter jokes about the Japanese earthquake. I compiled all these into what I hope was a fun read. This was the third Flashback that appeared in our Thursday features section. The cool thing is that I’m getting into print now. The downside: The right side of my tabloid doubletruck is in color while the left is black-and-white. Which makes for an interesting design challenge.
