Portfolio images

This was a big Washington Post graphic that I beefed up a bit with a photo and some additional text and updated throughout the day. In fact, when additional news broke, I rushed back to the paper, only to be told by my excellent colleagues on the copy desk that I had written the new copy with so many qualifiers that no update was needed. I was kind of proud of that. It's taken me a year, but I'm finally getting smarter as a writer and an editor. March 12, 2014
