It's been 15 years since President Bill Clinton was impeached by the House. He escaped conviction by the Senate, of course, so he was never removed from office. Neither was the first president to be impeached, Andrew Johnson. I walked readers through Clinton's womanizing, his dalliance with a cute 21-year-old intern and how his lying about it and his subsequent witness tampering damn near brought down his administration. It was difficult to write about this without getting into icky details. In particular, I love the Harry Hyde quote at the very bottom: "We have reduced lying under oath to a breach of etiquette, but only if you are the president." Smart guy. Dumb actions.
