I had no lead art for this page and it shows. I stumbled upon this little footnote to history earlier in the year and, realizing it was a very round 100-year anniversary, I stashed it away for later. I even used "pretty lady" in the downpage headline, a direct reference to my previous Mona Lisa focus page. I wasn't totally happy with this one until I wrote the very last sentence, when it all fell into place in a very Paul Harvey-like way. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013.
