Back in March, an early-morning earthquake caused two anchors for KTLA Channel 5 to dive under their desk. The video was widely ridiculed, but it struck me that the two actually did the smart thing. This was reinforced when we had an earthquake here, just a few days later. In the past, I've worked with our local earthquake preparedness folks on these kinds of pieces but I spent weeks and weeks trying to get ahold of someone to interview. To hell with it: I finally just took a swing at it myself. And the page came out just fine. I should have done this the week after it happened. Another heavy sigh. May 28, 2014
