Focus: Words for the Ages

I definitely had to do something for the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address. And I learned something new: I didn't know Lincoln was sick from smallpox when he gave that speech. I didn't know that the five copies Lincoln gave out all differed, so historians aren't quite sure of what wording Lincoln used that day. I was delighted to come across the media coverage of the speech, but keep in mind I usually build my pages a week to a week-and-a-half in advance. After I built this page, the Harrisburg Patriot-News issued an official retraction of its harsh assessment of the speech, and then that retraction went viral. Darn. That kind of beat me to the punch.
