The convergence of terrorists and government forces in Marawi City has resulted in military operations in the toughest of settings: urban fighting. Terrorism has been confronted by military valor and spectacular acts of solidarity by Moros and Christians in the city. The cost has been high, in lives and property, as the situation evolved from clash, to siege, to battle.
