These MUD districts are a bit of a racket. Bonds get sold and taxes are raised to pay for them. But the MUDs are created by politicians who — in our case — claim to be anti-tax guys. The law firms that rake in big money creating these MUDs also donate huge bucks to the politicians who create them. Plenty of money to go around… except for the folks who live in them and have to pay the bills.
