Yet another Further Review science piece — this one was on the new, flaky pseudo-science of Stem Cell Therapy. Before I could write about the scams, though, I had to tell readers: What is a stem cell in the first place? I really didn’t have much data to work with, so I used graphics from a number of sources: The one in the middle is an old file piece from the Detroit Free Press, downloaded from the Tribune News Service. The two graphics below that — the clinics diagram and the bar chart — are fresh pieces from the Washington Post. This tied in with a story the Spokesman-Review ran that same day.
