01 JUL 10 -- Not wild about the headline, but it's a illustration for a story about whether anyone with a gun permit should be allowed to conceal-carry their weapon. So I thought of taking a slice of suburban summer life (lemonade stand) and turn it into a parody. I also thought it important that the child be armed, lest this illo take on a really dark character, so I gave him a Dennis the Menace-style slingshot. The people silhouettes (and pitcher) are from iStockPhoto. Table's all mine, though, so boo-yah.
