I’ve been looking for the right opportunity to have some fun with the Advocate’s nameplate. I did this a few times at the OC Register and was told to knock it off. Which was pretty dumb, in my opinion. Anyway, we’ve had a ton of rain here and with the ground completely saturated, we’re expecting another five or six inches over the next 36 hours or so. It’s enough to make the letters of your nameplate — especially those with huge counters that trap air — float away. As fun as this was, it’s the info — a local river over flood state, events being canceled, three new daily rainfall records in the past 13 days — that gives this legitimacy at the top of page one. Friday, March 20.
