The June 14,2009, features front for the Robesonian. The National Hollerin' Contest, which is held annually in Spivey's Corner, N.C., is the centerpiece.
The hand-drawn graphic of the man hollerin' is custom made in Photoshop. His tongue was added last and his hat was originally cyan with a yellow banner around it.
The man at the microphone is Larry Jackson, seven-time National Hollerin' Contest champion. He was cutout in Photoshop as one of the last graphics on the page.
