Perhaps the most satisfying page I’ve done so far: All I had to work with were two photos of Garfunkel. One was horizontal, so it didn’t really work with the page format I’m given. And then there was this handout, which was this weird photo in which Garfunkel was black-and-white but the background was blue. I hated it. So I turned the entire thing black-and-white, duotoned some blue back into it and then saw that the features editor was writing about Garfunkel’s struggle to recover from issues with his vocal chords. So this headline just popped into my head. I’m really, really proud of the headline and of the page.
