Rob Portman is a U.S. senator and a former White House aide, budget director, congressman, globe-trotting trade representative and, possibly, the next Republican nominee for vice president of the United States. The senator from Terrace Park is among a handful of prominent Republicans Mitt Romney is considering as a potential vice presidential nominee. Portman has known Romney for years and has been campaigning for him for months.
