Writing to his sons, Gen. Vicente Lim observed, “No matter how crooked, how weak the next President is… as long as the Army is strong, honest, and free from politics, the nation will stand. The Army has always been the backbone of all nations, barring none in the world.” Its history may be complicated, but its vision for itself has remained consistent: to defend the nation by demonstrating the values of integrity, courage, and loyalty to institutions, and not personalities among its alumni.
