In the fall of 2007, Jaguars running back Fred Taylor was about to join an elite group of NFL players who have rushed for 10,000 yards or more. I wanted to put it in perspective for casual fans. We could have simply converted it to miles, but showing it to readers in the context of their city seemed like it would have greater impact. I was able to make it a little lighter and more whimsical because I wanted to indicate this wasn't a traditional map.
