To commemorate the 50th anniversary of President Kennedy's assassination, we dedicated five pages to a variety of local and AP stories, breakouts, historical photos and vignettes from locals remembering the day. Throughout the process, I met extensively with the section, design and photo editors to narrow down what content would run in print and which iconic photos we thought readers might like to see. We decided to focus in on remembrance of the day itself to narrow down the scope. The branding at the top of the page was featured on all inside pages, in accompanying videos and as part of the web landing page. The branding accompanied each story we ran in the daily paper leading up to the day of his assassination, Nov. 22, to give readers a visual cue.
