Night news editor Pat McFadden came up with the headline, and together we decided to convince new editor, Mike Burbach, to take a chance and not start the story on 1A. We kept it really simple and just put a poster-type refer to the obit and other coverage. We contained an 80-inch obit on an open page, and four more pages were dedicated in sports to Killebrew's passing.
