I'll admit that neither one of these are great pages. The page on the left is the page that was published. The one on the right is the page I wanted to do, but being the new guy I didn't want to break from the paper's style. No editors were working to ask if it was OK to move the flag and we typically don't run large, grabber heads in big bold fonts. Personally, I like big splashy pages and it was fun to stretch my design legs a little, even if no one will see it.
