Outside of the Meet the Candidates section, this was one of our biggest planned covers and also only the second time we went without the typical cover logo. The best part of this photo of the William Byrd baseball program seniors is that this set up was unplanned. Our original "back alley" look was going to use flood lights off to the side of the Voice office building. Instead, in a last second move, we used actual headlights to create the realistic, gritty look. The Vinton Voice name was then used in a faded way, almost like kind of graffiti-like on the brick wall, while still using a readable font.
