A rare graphic treatment for the Sunday front page. The numbers were crunched by our business team and then fed to me in hopes they’d show how the collapse of the energy sector is dragging down the economy of the region. My boss, Susan Barber, had the idea of adding the iconesque photos atop each segment. We built several versions of this centerpiece but, in the end, circled back around to this one, the one we had started with.
