Every year the country's best storytellers come to Orem, Utah, for the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival. Every year we run a preview story in advance of the festival. I wanted to do something that illustrates the magic in the air when the performers are telling their tales. I found this photo in our archives from a previous year and created the squiggles, doodles and spirals in Illustrator. I combined both in Photoshop. This page won 1st place Features Design Division B in the 2008 Utah Society of Professional Journalists contest.
