By mid-may, the seemingly constant rain finally pushed the river out of its banks in a big way. The zoo — at Riverside Park here in Victoria — closed down and roads began being affected. I reused a map I had drawn a while back showing flooding along key rivers in the area. I’d end up updating a (smaller) version of this map for eight consecutive days for inside pages.
