The original concept was to show how many times Earthlings have sent probes to each planet. For Venus and Mars, the numbers are quite large and some of the probes didn't function properly. And then you've got Neptune: We've never gone there. I ended up constructing a quick primer on each planet -- or in Pluto's case, former planet -- and then detailing exploration history and plans in the white text at the bottom of the page. The one thing I didn't try to show here: Relative size and distances of the planets. That would take a page or more itself, I think. Maybe next time. - Nov. 15, 2015
