I visited the da Vinci exhibit at the Discovery Science Center here in Santa Ana and decided on the spot: This Mona Lisa exhibit will HAVE to be a Focus page. Much to my surprise, I found that the story about Pascal Cotte's photographic documentation of the 600-year-old painting had been written about extensively when the findings were released in 2006. I used his press release and handout photos to build this cool page that gives a quick overview of what you'll see in the exhibit. But then disaster struck: Somehow, I lost my color position. Which meant the side-by-side color comparison lost all meaning. I guess I looked mighty foolish. I'm supposed to have a guaranteed color spot, so there was an error somewhere. How humiliating. It's a shame, because otherwise, I think it was a really great page. June 20, 2013.
