California is in the middle of one of its worst droughts ever. Here, I crunch data three different ways. Down the left is year-by-year rainfall totals for the past 53 years. You can see how below average the past three years have been. The middle column shows month-by-month data for the past decade. 14 of the last 17 months have seen below average rainfall. On the right, you can see how drought conditions have crept across the state. The forecast: It's going to get a lot worse before it gets better. Wednesday, Jan. 29
