With the Daytona 500 coming up, I thought it'd be fun to revisit one of my favorite old tales from back in the days when NASCAR was still struggling for a more widespread audience. I enjoyed writing about the controversy and the politics and the boycotts. However, all this was over a newfangled engine. I felt it was necessary to explain just what was a Hemi engine. My ignorance of mechanical matters made this one a bit difficult.
