The peg was the 90th anniversary of the Immigration Act of 1924, which limited immigration from Eastern Europe, Italy and Japan. I compiled an (overly long, perhaps) history of immigration legislation, which I then overlaid on a giant fever chart showing immigration numbers going back to 1820. I was very happy with this at the time, but now it seems mighty cramped. May 21, 2014
