Dug Begley — our transportation reporter but, like all of us, on constant Harvey support duty — suggested we do something that showed the two large dams west of town that prevent water from two huge watersheds from inundating Houston. He’s really good at coming up with alternative story form material. He wrote and I drew. I wanted to show neighborhoods affected, so we pulled in data that had been collected and posted online by other staffers.
