One of my favorite pieces of late. James Drew wrote a great story about a municipal utility district in Fort Bend County, the sleazy way it was voted into existence and the debt service residents of a retirement community have to pay on the $24 million in bonds that have been sold there. This piece went through several evolutionary steps but this one shows how the MUD’s law firm gets paid time and time again in this process. Mom always said I should have been a lawyer.
