This is probably one of the more obscure political history pages I ever did at the Register, but Election week was the 80th anniversary of Upton Sinclair's Socialist campaign for governor and the 75th anniversary of a famous campaign to give stimulus money to the elderly and the poor -- the "Ham and Eggs" movement. Fascinating reading… if you like political history. If not, then perhaps not so much.
