I had drawn a detailed map of the Addicks and Barker dam region a year before and we used it time and time again during Hurricane Harvey and its aftermath. This time, we managed to get ahold of a map that showed exactly which homes flooded when water backed up in the reservoirs — that was new. The data below shows how many homes have been built in these flood pool areas over the past two decades and how much it would cost to buy out the homeowners. This ran with the penultimate installment of our huge year-end Harvey wrap-up series.
