The first time I visited New York, I saw the Twin Towers under contraction. I went back several times but never managed to make it up to the observation deck there: I always opted for the Empire State Building. It's been 50 years since the Port Authority announced that their new World Trade Center complex -- which had been percolating for years -- would feature twin 110-story towers. Do you know how hard it is to find a photo in the archive of the WTC that does not show it on fire or falling down? We ended up buying the lead art here, the first time we've had to do that.
