The folks at HomeownersInsurance.com recently did a study in which they ranked Texas cities on how safe they are from severe weather -- Tornadoes, flood, lightning and hail. Oddly enough, they left out hurricanes. Nevertheless, it made for some interesting reading -- especially since they ranked our city, Victoria, the seventh-safest in the state. That merited a front-page centerpiece. As luck would have it, we then had two tornado warnings in the week after this page ran, when funnel clouds were spotted over Victoria. I'm not the superstitious sort, but stuff like this could change that one day soon. May 11, 2015
