Our A1 editor asked me to do something special for the top of page one in order to promo my gala crossword puzzle page in Friday's paper. This is what I came up with. In particular, I was proud of the scribbles in the nameplate. I wanted it to be readable but to look as casual as possible. I hope I pulled it off. Side note: Most folks call these "skyboxes," but here, it's a "ribbon." I'll let you know if I ever figure that one out. Friday, Dec. 20, 2013.
